One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® Goes Pink
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ramsey, MN– One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning® is going pink for the month of October, to benefit the Minnesota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Northern’s One Hour in Ramsey, Krinkie’s One Hour in St. Paul, and O’Connor’s One Hour in Hastings are teaming up to donate $1 from every service call to the charity. The three businesses will also match any customer donation up to $5 during the “One Hour Goes Pink” campaign, which will run throughout October.
“Being a positive influence on the community is very important to us as a business,” Kristen Lade of Northern’s One Hour said. “We try to do it throughout the year by contributing to youth organizations, youth sports teams, Toys for Joy and by holding our food drive during the holidays. Breast cancer impacts so many that we wanted to be a part of this national campaign in October, while at the same time being able to keep most of the funds we raise in Minnesota.”
America’s 2.5 million breast cancer survivors is the largest group of cancer survivors in the country. The disease will take 40,000 lives this year but, progress is being made. Nearly 75% of women over 40 now receive regular mammograms and the five-year survival rate for breast cancer, when caught early, is now 98% compared to 74% in 1982.
“We are so grateful One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning has taken the initiative to help our efforts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Karen Heuchert from the Minnesota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure said. “Seventy-five percent of our net proceeds stay right here in Minnesota and local businesses like One Hour are invaluable partners. The funds from “One Hour Goes Pink” will help fund national research and statewide breast cancer screening, education and treatment programs targeting medically underserved Minnesota women.”
This is the first “One Hour Goes Pink” campaign. The three One Hour locations hope to raise $5,000 during October. Keep an eye out for a special pink coupon in this month’s Valpak. You will also see a One Hour float in the Anoka Halloween parade on October 29. The One Hour team will be at the staging area two hours before the parade starts taking donations.
